Aloe barbadensis is commonly referred to as the “medicinal” aloe. The extracted leaf juice is commonly used as a skin salve after a day at the beach. It helps soothe your skin and makes a very nice landscape and container plant. Aloe barbadensis will form a colony of plants measuring 3’x3′ if planted in a landscape. Container culture will dwarf the size of the colony. Very nice yellow/orange bloom stalks in the winter. Tolerant of heat and sun. Protect plants below mid twenties temperatures.
